Even though my business is small, but I am assuming that it will grow in first three years and I will have to hire some employees to manage the workload. So, my HR implementation plan is as follows:

What skills or qualifications you or any employees need upon start up and into the first three years?

I will be looking for following skills while hiring an employee for my business:

  • Ability to create and edit graphics using software like Adobe photoshop. Ability to understand printing methods like heat press and direct-to-garment (DTG) method.
  • A keen sense of style is necessary to produce appealing and commercially successful designs.
  • Knowledge in budgeting, marketing, sales and customer sales.
  • Paying attention to detail to ensure good quality finished goods.
  • Ability to think calmly during printing process.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and dealers to provide better experience.

How will you recruit employees?

  • I will be recruiting employees through online job boards, social media, and industry-specific websites such as Indeed and Job bank.
  • Attend local job fairs or networking events to meet possible applicants.
  • Provide employee referral incentives to encourage current employees to recommend qualified prospects.
  • Collaborate with local vocational schools or universities that offer graphic design or printing courses to find talented workers.

Who will run your business if you need to take a break and what skills or qualifications do you need for this?

In my absence I will designate a trustworthy employee to oversee everyday operations. This employee should have similar understanding about printing process and business management as me. I will be clearly documenting the standard operating procedures to ensure smooth operations in my absence.

  • Competitive wage $20/hour, which is 13.30% above than average hourly salary ($17.34) for a t-shirt printing employee.

I will be looking for one employee who can follow following duties ability to create graphic designs using graphic design software and ensure final products meet expectations, operates and keeps printing equipment clean and maintains printing quality, troubleshoots technical issues and performs routine maintenance tasks, develops market strategies to attract customers and manages social media accounts to strengthen relationship with target market, handles inquiries, complaints, calls and orders, providing assistance to clients, address concerns and ensures that customers are getting exceptional service.
